Good to hear that the Alex 103 may have established a beach head in LA. Adding
further variety to horn sound in the US is to be welcomed, though Milton's post
suggests that the Kruspe/Conn sound world may be too strong to resist.

Indeed, I purchased that horn (which Bill purchased from James Stagliano) I
later sold it to Lisa Taylor who is also on this list

My Congrats Also,

It might be of interest to know that Bill Lane played on a Alex 103 when he
first came to Buffalo as con principal. It was

later that he changed to the Conn 8d.

While on tour, an old friend told me that the LA Phil chose Andrew Bain,
principal horn in Melbourne, to fill their principal position. I had not heard
that (some Googling confirmed it), so congrats to Mr. Bain! My friend also told
me that Mr. Bain plays on an Alex 103, which would seem to mark a different
direction for the LA horn section. Interesting news, I thought, so I figured I'd
pass it on.

All the best to all of you, worldwide,

Bob
