I haven't followed this thread very closely, but the mention of catalog causes my usual Pavlovian reaction as my brass gallery project holds these scans:
Scans of older Yamaha horn catalogue and horn pages from Yamaha general brass catalogues (1976, circa 1985, post 1990): Single page 300 dpi scans in .pdf format: http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/YorkMasterPublicPhotos56/files/Scans%20of%20older%20Yamaha%20horn%20ca-/ Yamaha Custom Horns from a circa 1988 catalogue: Single page 300 dpi scans in .pdf format: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/YorkMasterPublicPhotosXI/files/Yamaha%20custom%20horns%20circa%201988/ If you have horn (or other brass) catalogues and a scanner, I would be most happy for receiving scans in 300dpi resolution and in .jpg format. Please contact me off list before starting the scanning to avoid redundant work. I am on a fixed rate high speed connection with a hug in-box, so I have no problems in doing this kind of fun work, which some kind people even find useful. Latest sample is that a player found out, that his Alexander 5V single Bb horn is much closer to a pre-WWII Knopf than to the various Sansone versions. Clinical blue-print type photos of interesting horns are most welcome. Engravings can be hard to get right due to reflections. Sometimes a few supplemental shot from different angles will add up to a good reading. Format: the same as for the scans. Unless you insist my general policy is NOT to give credits for ownership and photography. Uninvited guests should not be lead to your homes. The index of the whole project may be found here: http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/YorkMasterPublicPhotosIII/files/ Klaus Smedegaard Bjerre --- "Hunt,Thomas" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Is it certain that the 667v is not as hand made as the 861?
