Sounds like my description of MG where I say it is just too "verbose". The last MG site I did, which was for another developer who lacked time to do it but requested MG, has dreaded their choice of it ever since. They really have not given specific reasons to me and I know are very familiar with MVC but plan to slowly strip the framework out and I think just not even have one. Now their site is a very small e-commerce website so having no framework at all I highly doubt is any sort of crutch to them.
