My issue was not just the data sources though, it was essentially every
single setting.  Not even the scheduled tasks copied over correctly, I had
to go through every single setting in the admin and visual make sure they
were the correct ones and manually fix if not.  At that point it became
pointless to use the CAR.  Matter of fact I think the only thing that copied
over correctly was the mail server value, everything else I had to massage.
 Neo files also sometimes change between versions, I think it changed
between CF6 and CF7 then CF7 and CF8, I could be wrong on the exact versions
changes but I know the structure of the neo files changed over time and
could very well change when going to ColdFusion X once it is out.  Also the
encryption has changed across the versions, for example I don't think the
standard method of decrypting datasource passwords on versions CF7-CF9 works
on CF6.
