Both of these printers are supported, as long as all of the requirements
for HPLIP are installed and running. I test the PSC1410 on a regular
basis. However FC3 is not tested anymore. It does work correctly with
FC4 and FC5 however.

I'm thinking of getting an HP PSC 1410 or 1510.
I'd like to know that I can make it go before buying it.
Following a suggestion on a SANE list,
I followed the directions at http://hplip.sf.net/
and did not get any complaints.
There did not seem to be any additional model
entries for CUPS or SANE either.
I checked the latter with locate sane-
and with ls /usr/lib/sane/libsane-* .
Before I actually buy a printer/scanner,
what can I look for as evidence of success?
After I get a printer/scanner,
what should I tell CUPS I have?
What evidence is there of a SANE backend?
I'm running Fedora Core 3.
Do I need to give more information?
Am I asking in the wrong place?
Is there a FM that I should have read?
Is it just that no one knows?
