No problem.

Can you run hp-check and post the output?

Thanks!

No error messages in /var/log/cups/error_log or in /var/log/messages. Thanks
for looking at this, Aaron.

As for color cal, try doing;

hp-colorcal -g

and posting that output as well.

I am running the HP Device Manager under SuSE 10.1, with an HP Photosmart
7550 printer. If I try to run the color calibration tool, it tells me a
page is about to print, I press <continue> as instructed, but nothing
comes out of the printer, so I can go no further. No messages show up
in /var/log/cups/error_log, or in /var/log/messages, so it appears the
print command never gets through to CUPS. I have no problems printing
from any application, and I have several variations of the HP 7550
(draft, color, grayscale, etc.) configured through CUPS: all work
perfectly.

In trying to troubleshoot this, I tried printing test pages from the HP
Device Manager. Only if I select "printer 0" (which happens to be draft
mode) does the test page print. Any other selection yields an error
message. The system log says "python: hp-toolbox[25349] error: Print
command failed with exit code 256!", and the CUPS error log says
"print_job: resource name '/printers/2' no good!" (or any printer number
other than "0", which as I said is draft mode. Now, if I don't use the
gui Device Manger, but instead type in hp-testpage from the command line,
it asks me to select a CUPS printer on a list of 0-7, and after I do this
(ANY of the printers) the test page prints correctly. No error messages.

Is the test page problem related to the failure of the color calibration
tool, and why is there a difference between the gui and the command line?
If I run hp-colorcal from the command line (which is useless because
there is no color box printed for one to check against the printed page),
nothing prints there either.
