I removed and reinstalled a few CUPS packages, nothing changed. I didn't
forget to restart CUPS.
But, due to the dependencies behaviour, it's difficult to remove some
packages without removing a lot of stuff (I have mandriva).

CUPS, as far as I understand it, is up and running, because I can
connect to "http://localhost:631"; and do a lot of things except printing.

The issue is maybe is with the foomatic stuff. When I print a test page,
I have an error message : "/usr/lib/cups/filter/foomatic-rip failed".
This is chinese for me.
A file with path /usr/lib/cups/filter/foomatic-rip exists; what it is
supposed to do I don't know.

My system is a fresh installation of mandriva 2007.1. I had no problem
during install, but I was never able to print since that.

There is no bug report on mandriva's database regarding hp printing
problems, and I know my printer is fully supported by hplip driver.

Thanks a lot for your patience.
