Hello, I have an HP 970cxi. I'm using Mandriva linux 2007.1, with hplip and CUPS.
My printer (attached to usb) doesn't print since I installed the new mandriva 2007.1. Hp-tool says the printer is idle and ready, but even printing a test page on cups or hptool doesn't work. cups is running, hplip is running too. The rpms I've are : $ rpm -qa|grep hp foomatic-db-hpijs-2.6.7-1.20060828.1mdv2007.0 hplip-1.6.12-2mdv2007.1 hplip-hpijs-ppds-1.6.12-2mdv2007.1 hplip-model-data-1.6.12-2mdv2007.1 hplip-hpijs-1.6.12-2mdv2007.1 libhpip0-1.6.12-2mdv2007.1 All of them are ok. I tried removing them and reinstall, no success. When I try to print a test page with cups, I have the message : /usr/lib/cups/filter/foomatic-rip failed The CUPS printer description is : Description : HP DESKJET 970C Brand and model : HP DeskJet 970C Foomatic/hpijs (recommended) Status : ne fait rien (idle), accepte les tâches (accepting), publique . URI : hp:/usb/DeskJet_970C?serial=ES9AS131RRJQ I tried to get help from the Mandriva community, without success. Thanks a lot for some help, because I tried everything I know and I'm completely stucked !! -- Si le travail c'est la santé, vive la maladie.
