I've bought a HP 2360 and am running Ubuntu 6.06. For a few months all
worked fine, then for some unknown reason the printer stopped working. I
rebooted into my Windows XP hard drive and Windows said it couldn't
establish two-way communication with the printer. I called HP and talked
to a chap in India who told me that the desk jet would not work with
linux. I told him it would and told him the driverr was hplip. We tried
many things but nothing worked. I had 3 yr warranty, so HP shipped me
another unit. Still doesn't work in linux, but does now in Windows. The
version of hplip that I have installed is 1.7.1. My question is should I
install the latest version of the driver (1.7.4a) and if so do I need to
remove the earlier driver? And if I need to remove 1.7.1 how do I go
about this? I'm still new to linux and enjoying the learning curve.

Thanks,
Adam
