I have successfully installed my network attached hp officejet 7310 via hp-setup. However the fax function did not install.
Specifically, after I entered the printer and fax info and clicked next, a popup appeared saying Unable to find HP fax PPD file. The printer ppd file was located at /usr/share/ppd/HP/HP-OfficeJet_9100-Postscript.ppd.gz. Note that a test page was printed and the printer works fine under cups. Also the scanner works with xsane. There is an hp fax directory with two hp fax pods on my system that were installed by the hplip package: /usr/share/hplip/fax/ppd /usr/share/hplip/fax/ppd/HP-Fax-hplip.ppd Is one of these the correct file and if so where should I put it so that hp-setup finds it? hp-setup asked me for the printer ppd and chose the correct directory, but it did not ask me for the fax ppd thanks, allan ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by DB2 Express Download DB2 Express C - the FREE version of DB2 express and take control of your XML.
