The printer "Deskjet_D4100_2" is not configured using the HP backend and
therefore will not function correctly. The printer "duffy_deskjet" should
work. What happens if you run hp-testpage? I'm not entirely clear on what
your problem condition is, you want to delete the printer and then print to
it using lpr? You should be able to run "lpr -Pduffy_deskjet
<file_name_here>" and it should print. Does it not then? You said it was
printing and now it's not, did anything on your system change that you know
of?

I have tried to use my printer configuration to install this printer but
without
success.to use,
I use to be able to delete all printers from the printer configuration and
then use lpr, for example with duffy_deskjet, but no longer. I am a
relatively newbie to Linux so please give plenty of details.
