Your system is used on the IUPAC site and I found unhelpful. Often there is a need to do a precise search, for example find all references to: Table of Standard Atomic Weights 1999. I don't want 148 irrelevant hits of which none refers to the document in question. It seemed to fuzzy up the search so much that most everything was hit. sometimes fuzzy searches are good but sometimes they are unhelpful.
