OK. There are a number of bugs in 3.2.0b3 that are fixed in the recent
b4 snapshots, but I hadn't heard of them preventing searches from working
at all. Anyway, the Aug 19 snapshot is the most stable 3.2 code so far.

Hmm, which version(s) are you having problems with anyway? In any case,
though, it sounds like there's a problem with the locales on your OS.
If you're running 3.1.x, and have words in your db.wordlist, but htsearch
doesn't find these words, there's a problem in building db.words.db from
db.wordlist. Make sure you run htmerge after htdig (3.1.x versions),
or run htpurge after htdig in 3.2.x.

Well, if there's no LC_CTYPE file in the locale you're using, then the
locale won't work for getting htdig to recognise accented letters as
letters. See if there's an installation package available for your
OS that includes the full locales.
