Yes I did re-index, and this sorts part of the porblem as it now includes
numbers in the index but I also needed to add the following

extra_word_characters: .

to my config, this now treats . as part of the search string as well.

So this means I can now search for IP addresses

I hope this is not an insulting question, but you _have_ re-indexed the
data with the new config?

And, you have set minimum_word_length to 1 (default is 3)?
