i am running slackware.  i gather from reading the other posts on this issue that i dont have to use the meta tags at all.  so what else could be the problem?

these are the errors i get:

htmerge: Unable to open document database '/home/****/websites/****/html/htdig/db/db.docdb'

DB2 problem...: /home/****/websites/****/html/htdig/db/db.docdb: No such file or directory

i did the -v and i'd say 80% of the .html files say size = # after them so it seems like its working.  what could be the problem?

Hi Jon,

What kind of system are you running?  I would think the meta tags could easily be added with a small Perl script or using sed.

getting the DB2 error when i run rundig.  is there anyway to just add the
meta tag to a few files to test the search out? or do you have to add it to
everything to build the db? is there an easy way to do this besides editing
the individual html files 1 by 1? i have 200 html files i have to go through
and i don't even know if this will work.
