This method is simply allowing a complete CGI query string to be set
on the command line.  Htsearch will first check the environment for
the presence of $QUERY_STRING; if not available it will continue with
a command-line query; if neither is available, it will fall back to
prompting for search words.

Thus, the same behaviour can be achieved by concatenating the query
string and the additional "name=value" and passing it on to htsearch
on the command line.
