More code hastily ported from Python to Ruby now in svn: serializer.rb, treewalkers/*.rb.
Not all of the hpricot treewalker tests pass, and the failures indicate that there may be problems with the hpricot treebuilder. I fixed a few latent bugs in this area, but at least one still remains.
