Why? No non-HTTP app should join us anyway so... if they want to have

There's two words in "HttpComponents". Applications
are not components, at least in my book :-)

Well, from a technical POV and when you see "Components" as de- coupled from "Http", then yes, I agree but in the end it should more be seen as a "collection" around HTTP-centric utils, whether real component or also an occasional app doesn't really matter IMHO... as long as it's an exception and doesn't become the rule.

Oh and since Droids is more a framework then an app, my comparison was a bit flawed - should have used Norbert as an example :-0

(Compare that to Apache Lucene and its sub-projects, I think that's
more impractical.)

What I wanted to say here: technically it should be Apache Lucene Solr, Apache Lucene Nutch, etc. but they're probably not doing that due to the impracticality...
