Hello Jane..good to have someone else in the London region - we are a bit thin on the ground and having two heads is definitely better than one in the hum stakes! You describe a classic first hit scenario with the Pest - who hasn't been throught the searching routine and put ears to walls in the middle of the night. I think that there are two majot themes on Hum. One, that age does bring on a sensitivity to more head noises. Two, that there can be more than one culprit in the trigger source issue- known or unknown equally. An example is high BP which I have and arrives often in middle .later life. This can quickly present hissing tinnitus to the sufferer as a normal course of events due to blood in the ear canal region. This can be random and produce on occasions quite strange whistling and ringing sounds which quickly fade.(Thankfully) So, likewise with Hum- except for the not fading so readily! Incidently , my experience of alpha blockers in HT leads to similar insomnia epoisodes and I've commented before on the fact that LF brain waves could well be interfered with by hum mechanisms. I t would seem odd in a generally holistic universe (though not impossible) for the body to generate a discomfitting regime for itself out of nowhere. It normally readjusts a bad input to the system by self mitigation in sonme way. In my view, the Hum is iniquitous because it seems to by-pass this self regulatory tendency the body usually has. This effect alone increases the stress input level to the survival stress reaction system in the body and lends an almost super power to the Hum, which it doesn't merit. It's just rather sneaky ! This is why sufferers resent not being taken seriously or being palmed off as a joke complaint.(Thanks Merton) If you notice- Chemtrails (which suddenly stopped recently locally- Have all flights diisappeared?) after years of denial are now being 'Oh so Gently' introduced into public awareness by snippets of climate management proposals suddenly including air particle management and their introduction made unavoidable. This is another blind mans' bluff done by who knows who on 'our' behalf. Without the internet we would be absolute putty in their hands. People are prepared to fight back once they realise they are not ,indeed, alone- and gain courage and recover self respect from examing issues and taking direct action of one sort or another. Recent activities in our GB? parliament show how trustworthy out gallant reps are- but nothing new under the sun! Hey- there's the HUm, sorry ;~) forgot that one in my concentration....
