A look through the archives of Hum forum shows that quite a number of sufferers have found relief using an electric fan while they sleep. I assume that most of these fans are mains powered induction types, which means they will have will produce a noise connected to the mains frequency or a harmonic thereof. I am not proposing masking one noise with another but using this as a starting point for further investigation. It would be better to have the Hum stopped at source but after 50 years I don’t think this will be achieved. Victor Nixon was an exceptional person, he also had the use of the American legal system which we don’t have in the UK.
