For all you people who cannot decide between a Roland MC80 and a Yamaha RM1x
hw-sequencer:

the MC80 doesn't have mute-recording (neither has the RM1x)

the MC80 doensn't have a TR-X0X programming grid recording style (the RM1x
has)

----

OK, i finally managed to make a shortlist of the bugfixes and wishlist for
the RM1x, with the most important things:

* mute-recording mode (Laurent Vitalis suggestions will be forwarded)
(the coolest way would be to implement it in pattern chain mode, as Laurent
suggested, but i was also thinking of a realtime recording option here: you
just press record, and all the mutes, transposing and section changes you do
are recorded in some kind of meta-style..maybe even all the realtime control
options like filters and effects.....later on you can change your mute,
section and transpose settings in the way Laurent suggested)

(i personally think this option, together with the better grid recording,
and recording while playing could make the RM1X by far the best HW sequencer
for the years to come)

* grid-recording doesn't mute all the other tracks

* realtime quantizing while recording

* add a soft-takeover to the realtime controls, i.e. the parameters are
changed the moment the controller goes past the point of the current
value...

* fixing a bug in the midi-setup (the system should check which channels are
assigned to tracks all the time in the midi setup)

* fixing the program-change troubles with some external gear...

Of course i will also include all the other suggested additions and fixes
than came through my reality check, so don't start spamming me ;-)

Olaf

* being able to record a track while playing the sequence (so switch to
record mode while playing)
