Well....yamaha spoke 2 me......

they said that no implementation of pressing record while the rm1x is 
playing is in the schedule.....they sayd  they would have 2 rewrite the 
whole OS to make that possible.....

Well that's great....i don't care if they rewrite the whole OS.....they 
prolly have the code round somewhere....so they have a good starters point 
if ya ask me
