Thanx to Olaf, Pete, Boris, Rob, and Torbjorn for your interest in
discussion of the rm1x & samplers. I'm not sure that introductions are
necessarily in order, but i'm kinda curious as to where everyone lives,
their type of music, etc. So, i guess i'll kick things off....
I'm a canadian residing in korea, and i make a living by teaching
english (tho my passion has always been and always will be making music,
performing, etc...).
The whole electronica thing is really starting to take
off over here, and i'm in a duo with a korean gal; we combine digital gear
with acoustic stuff such as guitar, bass, vox, and harmonica. Our music is
kinda crossover-based, but now i'm writing much more stuff with the
sampler/sequencer, and less around the guitar. I supposed we'd fall
somewhere between trip-hop, electronica, and lo-fi stuff.
We've just released a couple tracks on two compilation cds in korea, and
are currently working on our debut cd, which is scheduled for distritbution
this spring via Sony Korea (yeah, we're pretty pumped about that).

some things about who you are, so that in the future it's easier to have an
idea of who we're talking with. It would also be very cool to hear .mp3s of
songs you've made using the rm1x with your other gear as well. I guess i'll
sign off, and hope that you reply to this thread. Looking forward to
hearing from ya,
cris
