The headphones work fine, at least they have for me so far. As for the
static, I am not 100% sure, but there is a possibility it could damage the
source that is being taken in/pullen out of. I just turn the power off on
the thing that is getting connected/disconnected first, or at least the
volume cause it sounds bad.
