actually, I realized that I was askig the wrong question. instead of,
"how do I turn off program change messages", I needed to ask "how do I get
it to pick the right programs"
I configured my gear to accept program changes, set the recieve chanel(1
for my keyboard, 10 for my sampler), went back to cakewalk and made sure
that it was setting the patch. previously, I hadnt had cakewalk do that, I
set my gear manually.
then I moved back to the rm1x (in pattern mode). I have the same problem
when I hit the rewind button. the rm1x seems to send a patch change
message, putting all my gear to patch 0. when I press play, the patch
change messages I added in cakewalk take effect and change all my gear to
the correct patch. But, it takes a second for everything to settle down.
this munges up the first bit of the song. so...
I have 2 possible solutions for this.
a) leave a blank pattern in every song that only sends the needed pc
messages
b) possibly align all my programs to the rm1x? i.e. user pattern 0
currentlyuses patch 7 on my synth and patch 2 on my sampler. do they all
need to be set to patch 0? or should I load the song up in the rm1x to
patch 7, and move my sampler data to 7 as well?
thanks for the help
