I would do this in STEP recording mode. You can choose the lenth of your
notes with the F2 knob and as for the velocity, try JOB 2(modify velocity)
in pattern mode which allows you to program the velocity change. You can also
consider using JOB 7 (CREATE ROLL) although I never use this. One way I
sometimes do velocity increases or decreases is with the OVERDUB recording
mode and simply manually increase the volume. Hhhhhmmmm what type of music
uses 16 measure snare rolls?
