Ok, I'm gonna get hammered, but I use the KAWAI Q80EXe sequencer and I love
it.  It costs $360, has two midi outs, 32 tracks, and easy use of patterns.
It's all I need.  For equipment, it's a no brainer for me.  Nord Lead 2,
Virus b, maxed out A3000, Novation Drum Station, Xtreme Lead-1, Syntecno
TeeBee, ATC-1, and Spectral Audio Neptune.  Effects are T.C. Electronics
M-One, Zoom RFX-2000, and Yamaha REV 500.  Recoring is easy.  Fostex 1624
Hard Disk system, Fostex CR-300 CDRW, T.C. Electronics Finalizer.  Mackie
Mixers all the way.
