The MPC is a sequencer with a sampler built in. The RM1x is a sequencer with
a synth built in. The MPC has more MIDI outs. The MPC has nicer pads for
real-time drum programming. The RM1x has better grid and groove editing
features. From what I've seen, both are good. The RM1x is much cheaper,
however, and if you already have a sampler, it might make more economic
sense. I checked both out, and went for the RM1x because I preferred the way
that its drum programming works.
