I did (when I owned my MPC before) all of my sampling in sound forge and
would dump samples into the MPC.  The sequencer in the Akai is much more
powerful in my opinion.  Plus the touch sensitive pads make recording easier
for me. It's probably a personal opinion thing, but having used several
sequencers (including computers which I really don't like) I prefer the way
the MPC records (without using a seperate MIDI keyboard).  I had thought
about picking up an Akai S2000 to go with the RM1x, but right there I would
have spent more than the MPC costs.  But, we'll see...
