Not true. That is what I thought before. The GB18030 have include beyond
BMP from the day one and is specified in the page 5 section 7.3 in the
specification. I also missed that in our first implementation. Plan 1-16
ARE included in GB18030. Several people in the unicode mailling list
also point that out.

The area which will have issue is in the x window font handling area. We
definitely need to spend some time there to make it work.
Does GTK+ calling Xft ? Start from which version ?
