Neal, The reason that I would like to go for the 'MERGE' tool is that you can provide a list of input tapes. XCOPY requires, to my knowledge, a dataset list as input for the copy process. This means that I have to setup a process that collect the datasetnames that are stacked with CA-DISK on 1 tape.
Do you have any experience about the time needed to merge 3480's in order to fill up one 3590 ? Any other usefull experiences, watchouts?
