Or more likely, UNIT=(SYSDA,8)

UNIT=(SYSDA,2)

Subject: The secret to multi-volume, non-SMS, DASD
allocations?

Hello, z/OS 1.4 with non SMS, 3380 SYSDA here!

Is there some secret to multi-volume allocations that I don't know?

Basically, this JCL:

//SORTOUT  DD DSN=&&TEMP,DISP=(,PASS),
//            UNIT=SYSDA,VOL=(,,,8),
//            SPACE=(CYL,(1000,1000),RLSE),
//            DCB=(LRECL=149,BLKSIZE=0,RECFM=FB)

is B37-04 ing after filling up only the first volume. (I need to write
about 6000 Cyls.)

Any thoughts? I do not want to hard-code vol-ser's.
