Yes, according to z/OS V1R9.0 UNIX System Services Planning GA22-7800-12. Spawn is not the same as fork, and there are environmental variables to influence/control the various behaviors such as _BPX_BATCH_SPAWN and _BPX_SHAREAS.
HTH and good luck. -----Original Message----- From: IBM Mainframe Discussion List [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Mark Steely Sent: Wednesday, January 20, 2010 4:50 PM To: [email protected] Subject: USS Batch We have several batch jobs that spawn (forked) additional address spaces with a number append to the jobname. These jobs execute BPXBATCH or BPXBATSL. Is there a way to have these jobs use the current job address space instead of starting a new one?
