No. CRLF is used as a line ending sequence on DOS, OS/2, windoze and in
various communications protocols; it is not used for that purpose in *ix
or z/OS.

No. For z/OS the DCB information, hardware and the RDW determine the
record length; for DOS, OS/2, windoze and *ix there is no concept of
records in the file systems.
