I agree with Ted and others. Tell me what it needs. For me, I'll either put it in COMMNDxx or the CA-OPS start-up script. Since you say it can handle waiting for TCPIP on it's own, what's the diff? If I want it during limited function "system checkout time" I'd use COMMNDxx. Otherwise the automation.
We don't do $VS anything. Other shops may. We would decline your suggestion if it was $VS. If you were CA, I might tag it off of CAS9. Still, my choice. > -----Original Message----- > From: IBM Mainframe Discussion List [mailto:ibm-m...@bama.ua.edu] On > Behalf Of Charles Mills > Sent: Monday, September 27, 2010 7:37 AM > To: IBM-MAIN@bama.ua.edu > Subject: Re: Really dumb IPL question > > Ted, I've got a lot of successful third-party mainframe product > management > experience. > > I'm sure every "shop" knows what they are doing but salespeople, sales > support people, and tech support people don't talk to "shops," they > talk to > individuals at shops, and not every individual is comfortable with > "just do > it."
