Dave, Is there a "very polite" way to question a person's integrity and motives? Put yourself on their end of the conversation, and ask if you wouldn't have been insulted.
Both Ed and Tom are long-term, well-respected members of this forum and community. Both have contributed help (and code) freely. Their words carry some weight.
