Gilbert was a real gentleman. Very sad news indeed, and although I never met him (despite being in Florida), I spoke to him a couple of times. I can only add my condolences to his family along with the other commentators here. Gilbert's advice and guidance on VSE to MVS conversions was legendary.
I would please ask Mr Gilmore to continue to pass on our comments to his family, as I'm sure he will. Qu'il repose en paix. It was a pleasure to work with him as a peer ho shared his time and energies freely in some of his tools. e took pride in his work shared as free tools. He seemed to enjoy oding and debugging issued reported to him something I think only our articular fellowship can appreciate. As a vendor he provided some imple solutions at a modest price and was just as pleasant to work ith. He will be missed.
