I actually had a case where I had TSO userids that I wanted to merge with NOTES/390 ids and the report had to be sent to a notes server under UNIX. The TSO ids were the only ones in upper. Other than that, they were the same. parse lower would take userid XC039 and change it to xc039 We used the REXX translate function. When in doubt.
