Hi Binyamin, I was only trying to understand how things work, nothing else. From what I could find the only access to LDS was through DIV macros. Then a colleague said, no, using VSAM macros, too, but I couldn't find anything on that.

The basic purpose of DIV is to allow the file to be accessed and updated as memory.
