Yeah, one of first real jobs as a Coop student was to hook a 33ASR to an  029 
so they could take the long distance records and feed them into big honkin'  
mainframe, probably a 360/65. It was all black box to black box and had to put 
a  breakout strip on the wall between the two. Wouldn't work and wouldn't 
work,  they couldn't show us their pinout and we couldn't show them ours so 
finally the  very nice IBM guy says I'm gonna take a nice long coffee break and 
left the  manual with his doc opened to the pinout page. Well after we figured 
out  where DTR was everything started flying and boy was the OPs manager  happy.
