Gerard,
These two sysplexes are physically separate from each other, like two
separate datacenters or two separate customer environments ... correct?
Are these two sysplexes connected via TCP/IP Intranet/Internet? If so, have
you thought about just simply using FTP mainframe to mainframe? Secure, easy
to use (within the limitations/capabilities of FTP, of course).

Alternatively, is there a JES2/NJE connection between the sysplexes? In that
case, TSO TRANSMIT and RECEIVE come to mind as simple, no cost file transfer
methods. Within limits, of course, but suitable for small-fry type simple
transfers.

Regards,
Ulrich Krueger

Subject: File sharing between Sysplex's

Hi All

I am busy researching the possibilities of moving data between 2
Sysplex's primarily for Application folks,
In the current plan only 3590 drives would be shared but in discussion
the option of NFS came up.

Looking further DFS/SMB and NFS both seem to be options.

Has anyone had some experience with both?, are there data size limits
within either ?.

What would be the simplest to mange ?.
