I have cultivated about a 15 year habit (from the 3270 terminal days) of
hitting the Home key to get to the command line.  Hard to break, that
one. (-:  That's why I have to turn off the Menu keys as well.  And
another reason I was confused.  I configured Settings from the primary
([EMAIL PROTECTED]) menu and all got carried over to SDSF except the command 
line
placement.

It ain't that easy.  I've selected "/  Command line at bottom"
(my choice; don't argue with me -- I'm not a very good typist
and I believe it helps to have my fingers in my peripheral
vision as I view the command line).
