we in fact have a in-house production "utility" that does exactly that kindof looping suggested - except that we have the number of seconds to loop as a parm on the exec card - not exactly a guarentee, but changing a parm on an execute JCL is easier than re-writing a rexx or assembler ... (and avoids the one-size fits all scenerio)

That's a very good idea, Chris. Let me suggest a modification: wait until a job has finished conversion and is queued for execution before submitting the next job. Use the subsystem interfaces for submitting the job and checking on it's status. Could be a gold mine in disguise.
