You can use the jar command -- provided with the no charge IBM SDK for z/OS, Java Technology Edition -- to create Zip files. For example:?
jar cf myarchive.zip file1.seq file2.seq file3.seq I think this works: jar -? for producing a list of options. You can try these commands from the OMVS environment or from direct "terminal" connection to z/OS UNIX System Services.
