I currently have two back level LPARs which are proving problematic to upgrade: z/VM v5.3 which is running as a guest of z/VM 6.4 z/OS 1.10 which is currently in its own LPAR
I am looking to upgrade hardware and need to know if I can do this using z/VM. Can I run both the z/VM 5.3 and z/OS 1.10 as guests of z/VM 6.4 on a z12 (or newer)? All the documentation that I can find talks about "supported" Operating Systems as guests but I assume that means the ability to get support from IBM and not about the ability to run as a guest. Can anyone confirm if I can upgrade the hardware and continue to run z/OS 1.10 and z/VM 5.3 as a guest of a current and supported version of z/VM?
