Obviously APPLY CHECK is standard practice, however this will only check the
DDDEFs referenced by the FMID/PTF being applied in the current target zone.

The purpose of these "check DDDEF" utilities is to validate the entire CSI
across multiple zones.

Back in the day, I used to run them after cloning a CSI or performing ZONEEDIT
functions.

I found them especially useful at sites where the sysprog team might well be
producing system software configurations for multiple customers.

Is APPLY CHECK no longer standard practice when installing a PTF or product?
Quackenbush says checking DDDEF's externally is unnecessary and will only take
take the time required for APPLY CHECK.
