Jason, Very simple example:
//RRP4912G JOB CLASS=A,MSGCLASS=X, // MSGLEVEL=(1,1),NOTIFY=&SYSUID //STEP001 EXEC PGM=IEFBR14 //HELLO DD DISP=OLD,DSN=RRP.NEVER.OPENED The "HELLO" dataset is never opened but the JCL runs fine. As soon as I delete RRP.NEVER.OPENED, the job will fail with a JCL error. Being that IEFBR14 never opens the dataset, it will not get a last-used date. Could you please provide an explanation? If I attempt to delete a dataset with the attribute ‘lastref=none’ using JCL, will it result in an error? Thanks a lot!
