re: ... lot more secure from hackers... Welll... that is just the thing... opening it up, is what is making it less secure... I do agree, IBM "programmers" will take code from the hackers posting new Linux source code and properly scrutinize it before including it into SuSE, which is why if one look at cve.mitre.org and the likes, IBM does not really feature there because they do things properly. But, that does not make a z/ server a mainframe.
