Darren, thanks! Any idea what the root problem is? Here is the original note
to John:

We have had problems with our mail server resolving the DNS for your list
server ibm-main@listserv.ua.edu. I contacted the UA IT help desk and they
said you were the list manager and I should direct my question to you.

I have included below the error we are seeing on our server as well as a
screenshot of DNSStuff.com that is reporting the same MX error we are seeing
on our side. The main error is:
Sorry, I couldn't find any host named listserv.ua.edu. (#5.1.2)

If I query the MX records I do get an MX response but I cannot query the SOA
records. We sent out aver 75K messages yesterday and your domain was the
only one that failed an MX lookup (Well we had 67 errors of failed lookups
but they were all typos, i.e. .con instead of .com type of thing).

Can you take a look at your DNS records and let me know if you see a
problem. Thanks!

Charles

Let's not start inundating John Watters with emails about IBM-MAIN. I know
John and worked with him my entire career at UA. He was my manager most of
that time. I think the Helpdesk misrouted the problem to him. He has nothing
to do with Listserv. I will contact him.
