Hi Denis, you're absolutely right. It's not a problem to use uppercase characters in path names, but that's not the question here. I used path names here only as an example for needing the 'lowercase version' of an existing system symbol within some JCL.
BTW: Using uppercase characters in the path names like /abc/xyzA1 or /abc/xyzB2 would require some changes in the USS environment, which I would like to avoid.
